Carolina Water Cooler takes a few minutes to answer some questions from our beloved readers.

Who is Carolina currently looking at to replace John Bunting, and who would you personally like to see replace him?

Also, after the Appalachian/Furman game, would you want to play against ASU? How ’bout them Mountaineers.

Mark, Boone, NC

Well, Mark, we’ve heard that Paul Davis has apparently been mentioned as a candidate. If you haven’t heard of him, you might recognize him by his real name, “Butch.” As for inside sources, we’re basically limited to Dave’s neighbor, who used to work for a guy that plays golf with Matt Kupec and Lee Pace every other Thursday.

Of course, we have our own candidate in mind, and we’re a little shocked that no one else has brought her up. That’s right…her. Wouldn’t Dawn Bunting make a great coach at Carolina? She’s already spent the last six years running a Division 1-A program, she’s tough as nails (we’ve advocated in the past that she suit up for us at linebacker), and furthermore, we have it on good authority that her witch doctor told her, “Ooo Eee Ooo Ahh Ahh, Ting, Tang, Walla Walla Bing Bang.”

As for the mighty Mountaineers of Appalachian State, they only put up 40 points against Furman…a far cry from the 45 that Carolina hung on the Paladins. So get out of our face with your wimpy little 1-AA chatter.

How many points do you guys think Carolina will beat St. Augustine ’s by?

Fred, Whiteville , NC

Well, Fred, if we had to hazard a guess we’d pick something along the lines of a 31 point victory. We don’t typically do final score predictions, lest we look like idiots on our own website (not sure if you heard our first radio show, but we were expecting to win every football game this season by 34 points), but we’ll make an exception this time and go out on a limb and say we think the final for this game will be 110 to 79. As a bonus prediction, even though no one expects Carolina to keep it close in South Bend , tell all your friends you think the final will be 45 to 26.

Oh, and if you could do us a huge favor and not tell anyone what we actually predicted when we emailed you back prior to the St. Aug’s game that would be great. Thanks.

Does it take Dave as long to tell stories in real life as it does on your radio show?

Mike, Glendale, AZ

Yes…yes it does. Oddly enough, Stillman’s mom has the same problem, so he’s pretty immune to it. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused our listeners who aren’t used to this sort of thing.
